The X-ray department is equipped with up to date technology. We offer
- Conventional diagnostic X-ray examinations (chest X-ray, all kinds of Bone-X-rays, Barium Exams eg, Upper GI Series, Barium Enema, Defecography etc, intravenous Pyelography, Hysterosalpingography, etc.)
- Breast imaging (Mammography and Breast ultrasound) as well as interventions such as ultrasound guided biopsy and X-ray guided stereotactic vacuum biopsy (Mammotome®) as well as preoperative hook-wire localisation of non palpable breast lesions
- Ultrasound of the abdomen, small pelvis, transvaginal, obstetric, small parts, colour-coded duplex ultrasound (e.g. carotid arteries)
- Computed Tomography (CAT-Scan)
- Bone Densitometry (DEXA, QCT)
A new CT-Scanner and new ultrasound machines allow high-quality cross-sectional imaging.
Mammograms are performed with new equipment, which guarantees a low radiation dose.
Due to our very experienced technicians the compression of the breast during the exam is kept to a minimum, so that pain sensations rarely occur.
All pathologic findings undergo double reading.
The interdisciplinary teamwork with the referring physician is a very important issue in our policy.
Therefore we aks for complete information regarding the referral such as:
- previous X-ray-, ultrasound- and MR-exams
- histological and cytological reports
- blood tests
- reports of operations
In each case requiring short term intervention, we call the referring physician.
We are contractors of all Public Health Insurance Companies in Austria.
