With around 1000 deliveries every year, the birth clinic of the Goldenes Kreuz is the largest private institution of its kind in Austria with a history of more than 80 years of experience. We are proud to offer becoming parents the latest in equipment and competent and compassionate care, and at the same time also the highest standards in medical safety. The 24-hour availability of our specialists in gynecology and obstretics is a unique feature in an obstetrics-oriented private hospital.
Another outstanding quality is the proximity of the Goldenes Kreuz to the Medical University at the Vienna general hospital (AKH) and our close cooperation with the university clinic for pediatrics, but it is also in charge of our neonatology ward. It is this quality cooperation and the available technical facilities that enable the Goldenes Kreuz to keep newborn babies and their mothers in the house and to grant them optimal treatment. An excellent cooperation has also been established with the university clinic for gynecology headed by university professor Peter Husslein, M.D.
We can offer parents a new comfortable environment that is a perfect blend of medical safety and harmonious interior design. As an extra service, mothers are given a choice of preparatory courses from post-pregnancy gymnastics to baby coaching. Other special features our hospital has to offer include an infertility center providing superior services to couples desiring to achieve a pregnancy, and departments specialising in prenatal diagnostics (FetoMed) and the prevention and treatment of gynecological infections (GYNINFEKT) as well as all established methods of gynecological endoscopy and breast surgery.
Visitors entering the birth clinic of the Goldenes Kreuz can immediately sense the spirit of the Feng Shui philosophy as they are surrounded by an atmosphere of pure harmony, with hues of sun-colored and bright panels of wood and frosted glass. A soft and warm light prevents any resemblance of a clinical environment, thus creating the very ambiance that so perfectly expresses the philosophy of our house comprised in the slogan "your wellbeing is close to our heart". While enjoying a stylish environment, becoming mothers can absolutely rely on a maximum medical safety as guaranteed by state-of-the-art technology.
Take, for example, our three delivery rooms, each designed without any sign of optical sterility. The light-flooded newborn room is a cozy place for young mothers to exchange experiences with professional lactation consultants (IBCLC). The spacious rooms not only offer maximum comfort but also provide for individual rooming-in facilities - accommodating both babies and fathers! Naturally, we extend our care to include fathers and family members, who are welcome to relax in the comfortable waiting area and send their first greetings to friends and relatives via our wireless LAN system.
